“What Can Man Do To Me?”

Faith and Humility: Hand in Hand they move us toward Freedom

Our Beautiful Scarborough, Maine!

We are told in Psalms 118, verse 6 :”The Lord is with me, I will not be afraid. What Can Man Do To Me”.

Psalms 118:5-8: 5 “In my anguish I cried to the Lord, and He answered by setting me FREE”.6 The Lord is will me; I will not be afraid. What can man do to me?7 The Lord is with me; He is my helper. I will look on triumph over my enemies.8 It is better to take refuge in the Lord, than to trust in man.”

Happy June, dear friends!

Summer has snuck upon us here in beautiful Maine. The little coastal towns are bustling with laughter, excitement, and probably a few sunburns!  The locals are genuinely happy to see the tourist come pouring in from all over the country, and they love to share God’s beautiful masterpiece, as well as the incredible history of our great state of Maine.

It has been quite a while since I have posted a blog, and I am excited to re-connect with you. Life has a way of providing us with many distractions, or task, and it is wonderful to be blessed with time to write, be pensive, and to growth our faith.

Since my childhood, I have taken my Bible and asked God to just open it to His word, His story, His wisdom. It always opens to scripture that addresses the day's fears, concerns, confusion, and joys. With that being said, prior to sitting down to blog, I asked the Lord to please direct my fingers to the message He wants me to ponder on today, and thus, the above scripture Psalms 118:5-8 drew my eyes in. It is profound to know that the Lord desires to help us ALWAYS -through every aspect of our lives. He sees our pain, He sees our unsettled hearts, and He yearns for us to NEED Him, and to ask Him to walk life’s challenging paths with us.

I don’t know about you, but I can be very stubborn at times, (or so my sweet Husband tells me )...wanting to “fix “everything myself, and to want/need control over situations that in all honesty, cannot be controlled by any of us here on earth. The older I get, the more wisdom and humility that God is blessing me with, I ask Him to guide me, and to take away my worries, pain, disappointment, or fears, so that I may do everything I can, here, while letting Him carry the rest. This takes a lot of patience, and a lot of FAITH!!! Which brings me back to the scripture above.

Verse 5 “In my anguish I cried to the Lord, and He answered by setting me FREE”. Notice how true Freedom comes only when we have Faith.

So today, I ask you to take any burdens you may be feeling, any sadness, disappointment, confusion, any fears about your today and your tomorrows, and just be humble enough to say “Lord, you know my pain, you see my fears, you see my sadness, loneliness, health issues, rejections, failures, (and whatever else may be weighing you down), and I am Grateful for your Help you so eagerly await to give us. I know I need you to help me, and I have FAITH that you will never forsake us, as mankind so often does.”

You are loved, your life matters, and may you just lean into Him! Never give up and keep following faith. I promise you; He will bring the Freedom.

Until next time……… I will be praying for all of you that are in need or struggling or just wishing to grow your faith.

Lisa
